Venue: Multi Purpose Hall (MPH) / Classroom

 Theme: This is our call. We rise above all

Objectives:
The Farewell Assembly serves as a platform and opportunity for the S4 students to

●      celebrate the successful completion of their education as pioneers in SST

●      mark an important transition of the students’ lives as they progress to their next phase

●      remember the memorable moments of their journey in SST

●      show appreciation to their peers and teachers

Proposed Programme:

0720 to 0740	S1 to S3 students and teachers to be seated in the MPH. S4 students to assemble in the ISH. Seating Plan:
0740 to 0750	Entrance of the Secondary 4 cohort Singing of the National Anthem and Taking of the National Pledge
0750 to 1000	Photo Montage ‘The Road Not Taken’ Principal’s Address Presentation of Graduation Memento to each student Speech by Valedictorian Performance by students School Song and School Cheers End of programme (Secondary 1, 2 and 3 will return to class for the review of papers)
1030 to 1245	Closure by Form Teacher Class Part and Class Clean-up
1245	Dismissal

 2. Kindly note that the rehearsal on Monday will be at the MPH during CE block. All students are to be at the MPH by 2pm. We will start on time.

3. Class committee, please plan for a meaningful and reflective class closure and party. 

4. Pls start taking back all your belongings (esp the things inside the cupboards and the lockers).

2) Graduation Night

Date: 18 Nov 2013 (Monday)

Time: 6pm to 10pm

Consent forms and table allocation will be given to you in due course. Other details can be found on the consent form.

3) Photo taking for the whole S4 cohort in the field

Tutorial Room 1 opened for Students to do Self-Study Revision

Dear class,

Starting from today till 10 Oct, we will be opening the Tutorial Room 1 (B-05-01/02) for you to do your revision (self-study), on top of the InfoHub which is somewhat crowded.

The opening hours of the Tutorial Room 1 will be as follows:

On Mondays: From 2.50 p.m. to 6.30 p.m

On Tuesday to Thursday: From 1.35 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

On Friday: From 12.45 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

This arrangement is "exclusive" for the S4 students to help them in their preparation for O levels.

Dear class,

please be reminded that you can come in your own Cosplay or home clothes to school tomorrow, as part of your Youth Day celebrations tomorrow.

As a general guideline, please ensure that what you wear tomorrow is decent and appropriate. Please do not come in singlets, slippers, shorts, revealing clothes or clothes with offensive prints/words on them. If you are unsure, please check with either myself or Mr James Koh.

Arrangements for 8 Feb (Friday)

Dear all,

the arrangements for this coming Friday is as follows:

• Lessons as per normal up to 11:05am (i.e. Lesson 1 to 4)
• All students are to leave their bags in class (with LDs locked up in lockers), and proceed to the MPH for CNY Celebrations. Please ensure that the classroom door is locked.
• After the CNY celebrations (end at about 12 noon), you will be dismissed from the MPH and may proceed back to your classrooms to retrieve your bags.

SST Classrooms Decoration Competition 2013

There will be an Classrooms Decoration Competition coming up. 

Each class Exco members will lead the class in this project. Students need to submit a short write-up (less than 100 words) to explain to the judges how the class decoration is related to their class mission, goals and code of conduct.

Guidelines to adhere to:

• Students are encouraged to use recycled materials. There will be no reimbursement of expenses incurred.

• Safety of the classroom should not be compromised.

•  The decoration should be done in a tasteful manner i.e. there should be no offensive language, symbols or pictures used.

•  Painting of the classroom is not allowed.

• Please take care of the equipment provided by the school. Cost of any damage done to any school property will be borne by the class.

·      Areas to note:

o   Notice-boards need to be allocated for different subjects and announcements. Eg. Duty roster.

o   Classroom must be clean and neat.

o   The locker area is clean and free from clutter.

o   Class mission, goals and code of conduct are clearly displayed.

o   The items in the class cupboards are neatly arranged.

o   Class Seating Plan is prominently displayed at the teacher’s table.

The competition will assess students on the following:

•  Class Theme reflects their mission, goals and code of conduct. (30%)
• Overall presentation and use of space inside the classroom (30%)
• Creativity (10%)
• Effort (10%)
• Classroom cleanliness (10%)
• Use of recycled material (10%)

Judging will take place on 28 Jan 2013 from 3 p.m. onwards.

Prizes will be given out for each respective levels.

Dear all,

Will like to remind all of us on the appropriate reading materials for morning assemblies.

Things to note: (not allowed)
1) non-print materials (e.g. Kindle, iPad, iPhone, etc)
2) fashion and entertainment magazines (for e.g. Her World, Teenage, 8-Days, etc)
3) academic texts, notes, readings

You should be reading a wide variety of genres like fictional/non-fictional books.

SGC GoogleDoc (for your update)

Dear all,

We have shared with you individualised copies of the GoogleDoc, for the purpose of kickstarting the process of data-gathering for the School Graduation Certificate (SGC). Kindly check your school email/ GoogleDrive for the document shared with you.

As a guideline, these are the areas of data that you need to recall, in order to update on the SGC doc:

1. Class-wide involvement
2. Level-wide involvement
3. School-wide (e.g. CCA/ Committees/ Special Events) involvement and achievements
4. Youth Service (CIP) - basic community services AND/OR service learning projects

We will be streamlining the SGC as we go along, so this shared SGC document is a working copy. Please do not change the title name of the doc for standardisation purposes.

We'll have the 1st review of the progress of SGC updates somewhere in Term 1 Wk 4.
